30000 mile service done, 1st year costs. |
|
Just had this service done today. Carried out at Guy Salmon Stockport. There were no extra jobs requested by me, apart from a couple of rattles to trace. I specifically asked for them NOT to use Mobil1, but to use the Land Rover branded 5w 30 oil. This saved a fair chunk of cash.
The only additional work required was to replace the rear brake pads (they phoned me first and quoted £99 additional cost)
The total bill came to £465.82 inc vat. The car was valeted inside and out.
So I have spent £1100 in the past two weeks on tyres and service. This added to the cost of the 15000 service (£380) and the front pads a couple of months ago (did myself for £50) puts the first year annual maintenance cost a whisker over £1500 for 30000 miles, which works out at 5 pence per mile. Car is 1 year old on 29th.

Yes there is that also, and the fuel which I reckon is averaging 17 pence per mile
So, for the sake of final calculation, what is a year old HSE, with 30000 on the clock, well cared for, worth?

I did my calculations based on 8k depreciation in year 1. which = 26.66ppm + 17ppm + 5ppm = £48.6ppm
I am sure then we have to add the insurance and road tax at 2.4ppm so the total is 51 ppm
Bet someone comes up with something I missed
