3 months old Prospeed Rock Sliders - Paint flaking!!
After spending the weekend at Ice fest, which included a gentle bit of green laning, I noticed that there was an area of the Prospeed Rock Slider with what seemed to be rust - on closer inspection I was shocked to see that there's paint missing and flaking all down both rock sliders
I only bought and fitted them 3 months ago, paid extra to have them coated in Raptor paint - really surprised that they are already looking like this, especially after spending nearly £1000 on them (Raptor paint and inserts)
What are people's thoughts, do I have any come-back with them, here are the pics, as I said, I've only been laning once and that was mostly driving along lanes and going through the odd puddle
Not happy at all :

The effectiveness of paint as a corrosion protection, is all down to the preparation. It looks like the Raptor has been sprayed directly on bare steel. I would have expected at least some etch primer under there.Richard

I had a markone roof rack from them where the powder coating cracked because some fat had stepped on the mesh and it started rusting. They repaired it no quibble - just call Ben, they’ll get it sorted chap LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

I'd be disappointed not cheap to buy to get them sorted going to mean taking them off and refitting them. They should be able to stand up to being in exposed to all the rubbish thrown up from the road. Not good advertising for them with potential customers.

Just had a VERY fast reply from Ben, they think
Quote:
"For some reason the raptor around the steel box hasn’t adhered properly. It hasn’t been applied directly to steel, the primer is on the part but for some reason the coating has failed"
They are sending a new set out ASAP and also offered to fit them FOC, just a bit far for me to drive up
So top response from them, will keep you posted Iggy/Ieuan
