3.5mm aux socket in the MY14 D4

Is there a specific lead that has 3.5mm ends that still allows control of the iPod via the steering wheel/in car system? Sorry if this has been covered before but i'm scratching my head here Sad

Thanks in advance,

I would expect control of an iPod to be done over Bluetooth rather than via a wired cable connection in a 2014MY D4. SWMBO's 2012 VW Golf manages it OK.

Bear in mind that I am only a lowly 2006MY D3 owner, though, so may be completely wrong.

Well, a 3.5mm jack is not going to allow you to control an iPod either. Rolling Eyes

You need something that plugs into the dock connector in order to send and receive signals to the iPod. A 3.5mm jack will only output sound.

Don't you have to plug it in via the single USB (annoyingly now only a single USB)
