First price was £547.00....I said that seems a bit expensive, "we can do it a bit cheaper if you don't have the fuel treatment" ...Do you price match, because I have had a quote at £330.00. Young girl on the phone said I will just ask my manager....10 seconds later she said that's fine

Just rung around for 2nd service (auto) at only 22,000 miles, but a year since the first one...
Lost interest after that, but still saved £100 in ten mins...
and a shorter drive away as well.

Just had 30k service done by Yeovil. Cost was indeed £412 + vat.
Booked in at Guy Salmon in Wakefield at £420.00. Happy with price and they are head & shoulders above Stratstone Woodford in terms of service etc. They are happy to accept delivery of 4 tyres I bought on line to be fitted at same time as service.
I had tried to arrange with Stratstone for an Insurance body repair to be done at same time as 2nd service, c £1,500 worth of work, I was told: "body shop is on a different site so you'll have to ring them and arrange that seperately" They didn't like the suggestion that they might like to actually do that for me...., (I was giving them 6 weeks notice). Told them to poke it and had the insurance company pick up the car and made do with a Panda for a weekend.
FYI Panda was great up to 30, but was frightening 4 up at 70...

I rang around a few dealers / LR Approved Independents (in East Anglia) today to check prices for a 2nd (2 year / 30,000 mile) service on a Auto TDV6. I'd already booked a service but wanted to see if I could get it cheaper - and I could / did!
Some dealers gave similar prices but there wre also some that were very expensive and one or two that were much cheaper. A number of Dealers were interested in price matching when I said that i was checking prices before I booked. The results were:
Taylors - Great Dunmow - Essex - £338-93 inc VAT
Lookers Hadleigh, Essex - £370 inc VAT ("special deal at the moment" - interested in price matching)
H A Fox - Hunters - Norwich - £442 inc VAT
Hammond - Halesworth - Suffolk - £443 inc VAT
Staratstone - Woodford (London) - £443 inc VAT
Hunters - Ipswich - £440 inc VAT (interested in price matching)
Marshall - Cambridge - £491 inc VAT
Lookers - Colchester - £591.22 (interested in price matching)
All in all, it's worth ringing around (even if you want or need to go to a particular dealer) and seeing if you can get it cheaper.
My 2nd (30,000) mile service is due this month. Stratstones of Stockton rang me on Monday asking if I'd like to book it in. I said "not until you tell me how much it will be". They then quoted me a whopping £443.81
My first service was done by Les Potts 4 Wheel Drive (http://www.4wheeldrive.co.uk/). They did a good job last time - including collecting and delivering the car from my work place so I contacted them for a quote.
No Contest - £288.36
Just gonna book it in now.Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills
Lookers Chelmsford quoted £540 (after taking five hours to return my call) - I gave a massive intake of breath and mentioned that independent garage www.ongarbridge.co.uk was quoting £316 inc vat - after being placed on hold for a minute, Lookers reduced their price to £398 inc vat.
Supposedly only a LR dealer can validate the anti corrosion warranty.
Ongar Bridge will keep my business as they don't have their heads up their own and don't look down on customers as an inconvenience.

I spoke to my local dealer principal , he said thay are bound by an hourly rate set by head office ...but they are allowed to price match !!!
I would suggest you all phone your local dealer and ask for a price match...most should be willing to price matchG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

Lookers will price match. Just don't think they know what it means
When I quoted a price to them (not a 2nd service price), they took the price I gave them and added on 15% (although it was a lot lower than their original quote).
