20” wheels and spacers

So 06 plate RRS I bought has 20” wheels. Fronts have a 5mm spacers fitted to clear caliper carriers. The rears have no spacers fitted, obviously not required for clearance, but do they need to be fitted for any alignment issues.

Are they an aftermarket wheel? Presumably the offset is incorrect if they require spacers to clear the brakes.

I'm running a front brake upgrade and have 5mm spacers on each front. I don't on the back.

There will be (and are if you search on here, as I have) many views. The guy I bought my setup from had run like that for a fair few thousand miles and had not had any issues. 5mm each side is hardly noticeable to the car I'd have thought.

The fitting of the new front brake setup was carried out by a respected Indy who said it wouldn't be an issue at just 5mm.

I may add to the rears just for the satisfaction of knowing it's all the same on each corner but I haven't yet...

I am still on the same size, albeit aftermarket wheel nuts. The aftermarket company said that +5mm was the maximum I could do with a spacer with their wheel nuts. It's in their documentation so that will do me.

I check with them all with a torque wrench each week anyway..

Thumbs Up
 Jim

Fit D4 callipers and you won’t need any spacers and have better brakes. Thumbs Up

Can't stand still with any of my cars! Always trying new and different.

Love my 6 pot Brembos and they definitely stop better than 4 pot D4 calipers.

What difference that makes is personal at the end of day.

The D4 OEM brake set up is good I grant you, for such a beast of a car they have some stopping power.

Very Happy

What wheel size/brake combo did the the TDV8 RRS have? I thought it was 20” rims and brembo’s.

If genuine LR rims, even with bigger brake calipers you shouldnt need spacers
