In looking at the 2020 vs the 2021 back end the new LED rear lamps do trick the eye into making it appear more squat 16 D4 Landmark

It is unmistakable. Oh yes.
And the purpose of its design is to make the rest of the range look gorgeous. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

they've apparently changed the seat base angle and extended the thigh support
ive never been out on the road in a D5, only sat in one in the showroom ages ago but the back seats and the number plate seem to be the major gripes so at least LR have listened to 50% of their customers for once 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

It wouldn't be the first time that LR had added a gap at the edge of the rear seats. My first RRS (2008MY) had the seats running up to the door frame with no gap. There was a nice retainer to hold the seatbelt over the shoulder of the seat. The refreshed RRS which I have now (2012MY) has a slight gap where the seat meets the door frame - the seat belt can slip in to it when not in use and there's no longer a retainer for the belt. It was obviously all a bit of cost reduction. It wouldn't surprise me to see some similar changes here. Add some cost in the seat bases to improve them, remove the cost from the seat back / door frame area.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

No Gap on mine:

The ones in the photo may be slide forward a little. My daughter, who is 5'11" has sat in the middle row in my D5 for hours whilst travelling through France and said they were much better to sit in than the D4. OK, she had got the seat reclined (something you cant do in the D4) but no complaints about seat comfort, and better leg room.
