Amazingly the car does not know its in Europe lol. I travel in Europe all the time and never treat it differently. Just make sure you have European breakdown cover other than that same as driving at home but better roads....

Well very true it won't know any difference apart from the long hours of driving and hotter weather lol

The D3's are highly capable cars and can achieve huge mileage, plenty on here that have done so.

As long as the car has been looked after and well serviced, everything else is in the lap of the gods. My old D3 scoffed at such trips and never missed a beat.
I would obviously have European breakdown just in case, but happy to report I NEVER needed it.

Try not to worry, it will take the edge off your trip.
Just enjoy and what will be, will be!

Drive safe and have a great trip! Mr. Green

I wouldn’t dream of taking a D3 or 4 overseas without proper breakdown and recovery insurance. However understand the limits, especially regarding repatriation of the car if the breakdown can’t be fixed. Plus don’t underestimate the cost of them getting a car back, they’ll usually only pay up to the market value of the car. I still wonder if Dark Bluie did get turned into Norwegian Coke cans, or became a junk yard kennel for a lucky dog. Sad

For the 2018 trip in the D4 I went with the top RAC cover as that had the best limits and the word “unlimited” used most. Thumbs Up
