2012 Disco 4 - worry points?

Hi folks,

Not posted for a while since I sold the Sport, good to come back and see little if anything has changed 😊 very reassuring.

I’ve been helping a friend with his ambitions to buy a D4, he’s done the deal and has secured a 2012 car with about 80k miles. Not seen this one personally.

Reason for this post is to ask what might be the common points of concern on this model. It’s the facelift car with the updated nav and rotary gear selector.

Anything to be especially aware of that might have surfaced with this age of car or engine/gearbox combo for example?

Thanks for any insight.

So on previous model cars I’ve had,, (2008 and 2010) I also had problems with

- oil pump
- compressor and tank
- belts especially the rear one, was hard to access so didn’t get done
- spare wheel winch
- EPB
- Tailgate latch for lower panel

Amy of these likely to carry over to these later cars?

Having owned my 120k mile 2012 since October:

All four rear wishbones (and I did the hub ball joints while I was there)
Brake disks & pads all round
Front wheel bearings
Throttle body

A previous owner had done the front wishbones already.

Apart from the cracked throttle body it's all pretty normal stuff for a car of this age & mileage tbh.

You can add these to the list

Central locking gremlins - mainly door lock actuators
Park Distance Control - Sensors in Bumpers fail and the wiring is fragile as…
Climate Control - Compressor can wear internally and become an asthmatic failure
