2012 D4 SDV6 Restricted Speed Warning ! |
|
Oh No our D4 has been unblindingly reliable for 2 years until now, when we get the infamous restricted speed warning, which comes on uphill under load with red warning light, so I guess we can rule out a blown MAF/Turbo compressor value/Dirty fuel filter and so its down to a split turbo hose or the unmentionable inlet manifold as its a pressure issue ??? my garage is on holiday until Jan 6th like all the rest & wifey distinctly unhappy and I havent even talked to the dog about it yet

ok took the engine cover off and got the spot light out, no signs of any obvious leakage from either side, also cleaned and swapped the MAFs to to no avail but normally when a MAF is blown the car runs rough anyway and ours doesnt.
my deep concern is that even if it is the inlet manifold, if one side goes surely its inevitable the other will too and I dont want to be in the middle of France when that happens but I guess there are little economies of scale from getting both done at once ?
restricted speed light comes on almost immediately now but cant hear any whistling

Bonus as that is probably the least expensive outcome given the symptoms

Guys I am so frigging happy !, back on the road again, I bought the part from Maltings at Gainsborough who were VERY helpful (I was the once a graduate trainee production manager at the then Spillers Gainsborough flour mill), cleaning & swapping the MAFs seems to have helped as goes like a train now
