2012 D4 HSE - Query re diff, Xenons & ICE |
|
Looking at 2012 D4 HSE with 19k on clock but have a three queries:
Does it come standard with a looking rear diff? If yes, is this activated by fiddling with the terrain response? In the specification there's an option for an 'active locking rear diff' which I assume is different.
Used car details lists 'Vision Assist Pack' but sales chap says the car hasn't got 'Active Xenons'. I thought Vision Assist includes active xenons? It has got surround cameras.
What's the easiest way to tell if its got 'Premium Ice' as that's listed but so is 'Ice & 11 speakers' which is a different system?
Thanks.

Unless it was specified, won't have a locking rear diff. Highly unlikely though. If it does have one it's all automatic.

I got Vision Assist and it gives you
- Xenon Adaptive Front Headlamps including Cornering Lamps
- Automatic headlamps with High Beam Assist
- Surround Camera System including Approach lamps, Tow Assist and Tow Hitch Assist
I also got Locking rear Diff which was an option and as DSL says is automatic.
High ICE has 11 speakers and 380 watts, whereas Premium ICE has 17 speakers and 825 watts. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Thanks for your feedback. The good news is the D4 does have all the Vision Assist bits you mention D4mation, the locking rear diff and premium ICE so I'm a happy chap. That plus the Bodsy remote pre heating system (fitted yesterday) and a 4 bike MaxxRaxx which I can also tow with and I'm now ready to enjoy many years with this truck. Am surprised at how well the High Beam Assist works and am loving the engine. Was sorry to see my D3 of seven years go though.

I agree on the usefulness of High Beam Assist, but others would disagree - it's a bit like Marmite. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

When it works properly, the HBA is very good. My first D4 had it and it was intermittent to say the least but subsequent D4s have all worked perfectly well. My17 Volvo XC90 Inscription
