Hi,

I have parking brake fault message and fault code : C1A55 Ignition switch input circuit
The parking brake it self works fine and no abnormal noise when put on. Anyone???

Instrument Cluster controle module : U0010 Medium Speed can no communicationbus
U0164 Lost communi with heating ventilation and aircon module

Ride level controle module: Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics cotrole module

All terrain controle module: Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics cotrole module

All the other codes are without fault lights, ride level system working, just came up when reading all modules

Thank you

Hi Eyvi,
Based on that strange list, I'd go for the Brake light Switch ( under the dash )

Let us know how you go.

Have the same fault readout on my MY06.
Checked all the wiring from the EPB module to the EPB switch.

So what next? Can it be the EPB switch thats not good?

EPB is working as normal.
Brake light switch are new.
No broken bulbs.

Only yellow lamp in dash.....

When try to delete the fault with Nanocom, its no success...

If no codes, try checking bulbs first as cheap, then brake switch under dash.

Pretty well know to throw up these faults if slightly dodgy

List out faults.

Mine came upwith same issues and turned out to be ABS / speed sensor.

I only have this code: EPB Ignition switch input circuit (permanent) C1A55
Cant clear it out.

Like mentioned, new bulbs, new brake light switch.

Yellow P- indicator in the instr cluster.

No other fault readings, no indicaton that ABS sensors are bad...

Hi John, I've also got a problem with my parking brake, and I see you've tested the wiring module and switch, would you be able to provide details of how you did this? I've had a very quick look behind the rear wheel where the wiring runs to a connection junction and I've no idea which wires to check!

Hi

I took out the spare wheel, then u have direct access to the connectors.

I have a LH drive car, but i assume its the same location on the wirings?

I measured the wires from the EPB module, to the 1st connector on top off the frame, just behind the right rear wheel.

I think its quicker to just do it from the epb, and all the way up tp the EPB swithc.

To disconnect the EPB connector, u can get to it, reaching your arm through the right rear wheel arc.
Its a white plastic interlock, needs to be pushed, and that again will push the connector out.
If u have el. schematic, u can see the pin layout from there. I dont have it in front off me just now.

New EPB switch tested today.
No improvement.
Cleared out all the faults, reset car. Still yellow lamp. And message Parking brake fault.

Anyone with more suggestions?

Surely the fault is related to the Ignition switch input to the EPB module not the EPB switch.

Check Fuse 41 in the CJB (behind the glove box)

Check for input on pin F3 on the EPB module from the CJB. This is the ignition input to the EPB.

Solved.

Even the Fuse no. 41 looked OK, i decided to measure it, and it showed over 300 Mohm resistance.
New fuse, and yellow lamp off.

Shame i didnt measure that fuse in the beginning.

Now i have EPB switch for sale

Tnx for help

Yellow lamp back on.....

So, the fuse only helped for a few months.

So today; I`ve measured KEY IN & IGN signals to the plug at EBP. Pin F2 & F3. Both got 12 volt, when they are supposed to.

So i am thinking that, since the fuse had blown earlier. It might be something inside the EPB.
Maybe a burnt connection, or a lead on the circuit board. Since it cant detect IGN ON. signal.
I believe thet IGN ON feedback, goes through CAN BUS ?`

So, my question , Is it possibe to get out the small electronic board, without taking the whole EPB box out from the car? ( hoping that i can discover anything wrong... )
Or should i just buy a new EPB module?
Island 4x4 has one, not sure of thats the right one. Waiting for their reply.

Cheers.

Found a cable broken.
Far up in the black plastic tube....

Solded back together with heat shrink. Working as a charm.
