2008 Dicovery3

Hi Folks,
My first time on a forum so apologies in advance for any rookie forum mistakes.
I’m not new to owning Land Rovers but this is my first Discovery 3. And whilst it seems to have a few issues, I love it.

Okay, the big ones:

1. At 65km/h (Belgium vehicle) upto 80km/h, approximately, I see (rev counter) and feel rev. Fluctuating. It doesn’t matter what speed I’m doing, it seems to be at a constant timing between whump, whump, whumps, about 1 second between whumps. I’ve looked through Google and seen it could be, Torque converter, mechatronic seals and even engine oil temp sensors? Any thoughts of where I can best start. Car changes gear fantastic and engine sounds great.

2. Shuddering when powering through 50km/h range, ish. Quite and obvious vibration through the vehicle. For this I’ve seen that mechatronic seals may need swapping but also heard someone mention vibration rods……?

I’m NOT a mechanic but had no concerns about climbing over my 88”, 109”, 110 and discovery 1 in the past but this vehicle is quite intimidating, seems less mechanical and more nuclear power station!

Thanks in advance for any advice

100% requires a Mega Flush! No big deal, looking around £300.

You will feel an instant improvement.

Assuming you got sorted as this thread is old.
