My 2006MY D3 is being delivered this Saturday!
Hi all, I am very excited about the arrival of my 2006 MY TDV6 HSE in Buck blue with alpaca. I have already been out buying bits for it and have added the following before it has arrived:
- Some good steel side tubes with steps from eBay (£185):
- About to buy a BAS Interface from Pete at Bell Autos - I have been following the various re-map threads and the ability to swap standard LR map for enhanced seems like a great idea. I will keep you posted about performance and MPG.
- Got a walnut wood kit off Nick (TLO) at Yeovilton - will go well with alpaca methinks!
- Finally I got the stealers to put privacy glass on to protect my kiddies eyes from the terrible sun sans ozone.
In summary, I am very excited and can't wait to get it, so I can start fitting upgrades to it!
All the best to you all
Kai

Good on yer! It's a Beaut. I got mine last Friday and I'm well chuffed. Been running a Mitsubishi Challenger since moving over and I've not been a happy chappy. Ran a TDi 300 prior to that.
Enjoy!!!'If you haven't got a leak; you haven't got a Land Rover!'

one on the right is v.nice - I nearly went for a Stornaway/Alpaca combo so I could get that look but wanted Zermatt more so I have the black interior BUT the new brighter trim on the MY08 works great so not bothered nowSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I have it! Did a couple of hundred miles to my parents and back on Sat/Sun and it is beautiful to drive - smiling all the way. Only managing to get around 27 MPG for motorway driving though, so a BAS Interface from Pete will be ordered soon.
There are a few problems though, as detailled below in my e-mail to Stratstone of Newport:
I took delivery of KJ55 YVD on Sat around lunchtime, so thank you for that. In general I am very happy with the vehicle and it drives beautifully. However, there are several faults that I would like rectified please:
1. There is a 2 inch rip in the leather on off side cushion of the driver’s seat, surprised the valet guys missed this and if it is not fixed it will get bigger – I can get a quote to have this fixed and then let you know the cost or you guys can let me know how you want to proceed?
2. There is no warranty information with the car (12 month full Land Rover warranty).
3. Although the car is now over 4 years old it has never (according to the service history) had its brake fluid changed – this IS to be done within the first 3 years according to LR.
4. The plastic cover (with the diagram on it) for the LH 3rd row seat back lifting catch is broken and has come off – it needs to be replaced.
5. The rear parcel shelf removal release catch is broken and does not work.
6. The service counter, on the dash info centre, is at -100 miles or so and was clearly not reset at last service!
7. The is no rubber mat on the sat nav shelf (below the screen) – I know you said it does not come with rubber mats , but this is a tiny one so its absence is ridiculous!
8. I paid £19,000 for this car and it did not come with wheel valve caps! Please can you send me some metal ones ASAP.
Finally, and despite me sending my insurance registered post and clearly requesting and paying for it , the vehicle did not arrive with 12 months road tax on it! It was lucky I had the time and there was a Post Office open beyond midday nearby, this is not a good example of customer service mate.
I would appreciate your e-mail response to these faults Adam with a plan as to how we can sort this. My nearest LR dealer is ‘Westover’ in Christchurch. I had read on the Disco3.co.uk forum that Stratstone did not have a good reputation, I am hoping you will prove this wrong.
Hopefully these faults will be made good soon and the temporary grin can become perma grin!

Well most problems with Stratstones have been resolved so I can forget about them.
In the meantime I have fiited some chrome bits and black LR badges in and out, and have done a BAS interface re-map.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!
Anyone who is thinking about a re-map whether TT, TC or BAS - go for it. In a rough unscientific experiment it has knocked 2 seconds off the 0-60 time and it pulls like a train. I will now have to exercise restraint and see if the MPG increases with time.
All in all, a happy bunny. Now I just have the stainless side bar/steps to go on, with Union jack number plates and she is complete. I will then post some nice piccies for you all to be jealous......
