2005 4.4 V8 LPG P0156 code |
|
Hi all,
Had this car for 3 years now, and basically the entire time it has had the EML on for P0156 Bank 2, Sensor 2 fault on heater circuit.
Never been an issue really as the car is LPG and I have had the cats removed and spacers put in for the O2 sensors.
Car just failed MOT now due to the new rules so thought I'd do something about it. The response time of that sensor has always been slow so thought I'd start by replacing that. Done with a Denso OEM sensor, reaction time now much improved.
However, every 3rd cold start the EML comes back on. I've even noticed that as soon as I clear the codes, as soon as I start the engine it brings up a pending P0156.
My thought is there is a wiring fault, any ideas where to start??!!
Look forward to hearing everyone's ideas!!

check for power on the heater wire to the sensor. (you need the engine running I expect)
Compare to the other sides sensor if necessary
