20 years an Owner

So 20 years on now who on here still has their first D3 from new

I remember when the D3 Decade was added to some, for them owning theirs for the first ten years.

The one for sale on here triggered me into thinking along these lines.

I think Uncle Ray still has his. Not quite 20 but it’s an 05 reg. I’m not 100% sure it’s still going just now, but I saw him in it back in the summer.

As the one who placed the D3 on sale on the site that Glynne mentioned and which I sold this evening, there was a level of sadness in seeing it being driven away after owning it for so long.

I was in my 20th year of ownership and it was never my plan to keep it this length of time. There was never a financial reason as to why I could not have sold it and bought another vehicle at any stage.

The reason why I kept it so long was that it was such a great vehicle and it was difficult to identify what it should be replaced with.

I should perhaps add that the key to owning a D3 of this age is having a Land Rover Specialist who has considerable experience of servicing and maintaining D3 that you can use. Fortunately the person who purchased my vehicle has been using the same Land Rover Specialist that I have used.
