My 1st D3 arrives soon!

Hi there,

I have just sealed the deal on my very first D3 from Stratstone of Newport. I have owned a RR 4.6 HSE before but prefer the size and looks of the D3 to the RR and definitely the better MPG!

The deal I got was a £3k trade in for my 2000 X reg BMW 530D SE Touring (146k miles, average condition) and £15,995 to pay for a 2005 55 TDV6 HSE in buck blue with alpaca leather and 42K miles. It has all the toys including premium nav, adaptive xenons, rear aircon, centre console cool box and a 12 month full LR warranty. They are delivering it to me, FOC in 2 weeks time and I can't wait to introduce my face to 'perma grin' time.

The only thing left to do when I get it is perhaps fit the walnut dash bits and steel tube side protectors.

Finally I will, of course, have to treat it to a remap of some sort, looking to improve MPG, acceleration and top speed. I am considering many different companies but Torq Tune looks favourite right now. How much for the tune down at Poole TFC?

My question to you all, is:

Is this a good price for my D3 and is this a wise move to get a 2005 D3, taking reliability into account?

I am pretty sure I know what the answer is, I just want to hear it from some of you!

Thanks for reading this and I am looking forward to posting some piccies when I get it. The only Censored will be when I pop off back over to Afghanistan for a few months and leave the Disco for my wife to drive!

Kaiser Very Happy Thumbs Up

Hi there, the sticker price was £18,995 on their website. I got a £3,000 trade in so £15,995 to pay. There are loads out there and if anything i think this slightly over priced, however add the peace of mind buying from a LR dealer and the full 12 month warranty, it is not too expensive.

I have looked for a long time and most second hand discos seem to be selling at screen price privately. I did check with a few people who were selling privately and they confirmed this.

My advice would be to keep looking around, Beadles in Sidcup have an excellent 2005 55 HSE in black with alpaca with only 36K miles and all the toys for £17, 995 but it is manual hence why I didn't buy it.

Good luck with your search, it is out there somewhere! Wink
