Thanks for the heads up on this BCP, Thumbs Up I’ve just booked a set of five, just two questions one daft: (1) This should just be a question of taking my old wheels off and bolting these straight on, right? And (2) any ideas how I can get them up to Manchester? Cost Etc…

No problem with the insurance company, Very Happy so does anyone know how much they would cost to ship from Romford, Essex to Manchester, and or how much they weigh per piece including the tyre?

If you get the weights & etc give these people a try for a quote:

http://www.cndlogistics.co.uk/

or

http://www.interparcel.com/quote/courier-quote2.php

I guess that it will a separate package price for each wheel. Rolling Eyes

I have no connection other than using them successfully. Cheaper than the normal companies (even though they use their services). 8)

Thanks Bill, I’ll give them a go, I’m just on to TNT now. Laughing I guessing the wheel and tyre will be about 30Kg’s each.

Amtrak were about £78 when I sent 4 wheels and some of the people advertising sets of wheels on ebay just now are using couriers at under £50.

Just a word of warning on insurance - I was seriously considering getting a set of these and rang my insurer (Direct Line) who have advised me that as the wheels are not standard to the discovery 3 range, the increase on my premium (full no claims, protected etc.) is £164 per annum Shocked

Off to get another quote as i only renewed yesterday and am still in 14 day cooling off period

SJR, you should try NFU Direct. EXCELLENT 4x4 cover includes offroad cover as std & £25 excess for windscreens.

I found them to be loads cheaper than DirectLine....

No probs with 19" FFRR wheels with Land Rover Ins. Not cheap but you get offroad cover.

I have not notified my insurance about the FFRR wheels on my car. I never thought it would be necessary. I have a set of 17's for off-roading with non standard (not factory) STT's, should I be telling them about those too, and evertime I use them?

Seems a bit OTT to me.
