| MY 15 Transmission Fault? |

Twice in the last week I had the following:
Start up the car put the transmission into D and press the accelerator, nothing happens apart from from the revs rising. I look down at the gear selector and although it is definitely in D the light is flashing on the D. I put it back in P then into D and all's well, off I go.
Is it me? Big problem coming or of no account?

Bill when it does this does it say D in the speedo display, I saw a my2014 that did that but in the speedo display it was showing N not D. They took it to there dealer and not sure what they did but it wasn't major ,they had it back within 4 hours MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

Is anybody else having this issue? Occasionally pull up and when setting off car just revs or rolls back if on a hill. D on gear selector indicator and in dashboard display are both flashing it's like it's in neutral. Go to park and back to drive and everything's ok again. Main dealer looking into it but it's not reporting any faults on diagnostics etc and being intermittent doesn't do it when they drive it. Any ideas appreciated. 02 Defender 90 TD5

I ha issues recently with the rotary knob becoming noisy when in P and putting foot on brake, a banging noise. On two occasions before the new rotary bit was replaced I had the P and D flash and on both occasions I had trouble engaging Drive. Turned car off and back on and all was fine. Rotary know changed two weeks ago and no issues since MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Gear selection module replaced but flashing Ds still happens no specific similarities to cause it really random !! 02 Defender 90 TD5

My MY16 will be going back to dealers to check out something similar. I am 700 miles in. Sometimes when I am on a hill I can be in D or R (depending on direction) and when I take my foot of the brake it will roll downhill. Only when I apply throttle will it bite and then move uphill. Dangerous imo and my D3 never had that. Rotary knob and drive indicator show everything normal. 2016 Landmark
