MY 14 steering wheel design - grand black lacquer infills
Looking over a neighbour's new MY14 HSE & comparing details with my MY12 equivalent, one very striking difference is the new model's steering wheel has grand black lacquer on the two infill panels around the buttons.
To my eyes this looks really good and now makes the dowdy, greyish matt plastic on my wheel look very dull.
Would anyone know if the panels are interchangeable (& available as spares)? The general outline of the two panels looked very similar and the buttons hadn't changed (I think)

Simple case of take out old ones a fit new. Obviously there's a few more technical details such as remove airbag, I ain't mechanically minded so refrain from posting about mechanics 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Yes,my 13 model year has them as part of the grand black interior trim. They were missing when I took delivery and the dealer fitted them afterwards. Im not sure there is a separate part number for them though,or whether you have to buy the rest of the black interior pack?

I'm sure they can be bought separately, I enquired about changing my standard trim to the black and was basically asked how much or little I wanted to change.

OK, thanks for the replies.
I have grand black trim as standard on my MY12 HSE but it doesn't include the steering wheel trims.
It sounds like these were included with the whole grand black trim pack from MY13 so should be possible to source them?
I don't normally go for stuff that on!y has appearance value rather than additional function but this was really noticeable in the driving seat

Should they be there? Anyone got any photos?

Don't confuse the interior black pack with the exterior black design pack. If you have shiny black door inserts, and shiny black surround to the terrain response/accessory sockets area, and ash/coin tray, then certainly on MY13 you should get the steering wheel gloss black trims too.

I didn't have a problem with the matt look until I sat in the later model & the wheel made a bigger difference for me than the photos can really show.
It looks like the trims are interchangeable so I'll ask Guava if its possible and how much

I got the interior piano black trim on my MY13. It was specified by previous person ( they pulled out of the deal and I got a good price)

At the risk of offending (many) others, I think the gloss black looks tacky at best.Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
