I've got it on my MY14.
Whilst I probably wouldn't have chosen it, it blends in well with all the other bling that the MY14 has. So it doesn't stand out at all. In fact, I didn't instantly notice it.
I think it would really stick out a mile on the more rugged D3 though. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I tried to choose a matt option for the steering wheel when I ordered the car, but that was not possible for the MY14. Now after 4,5 months of ownership it's actually grew on me and I think I actually like it now. As said my only problem is that it gets my fingertips whenever I touch the shiny bit!

I just ditched grand black - after years of it and seeing where it is on the disco it not only smudges but scratches easily.
Personally im really glad I did have it again Mike

Not a great fan of that either - although wifeys D4 has the walnut so it wouldn't go anyway.
I'm betting a vinyl wrapping company would be able to do something that looked almost identical for £notalot....? 2012 D4 HSE for her
2014 Evora S SportsRacer for him

Seems to be a 'grey' area
I parked up next another 13 LUX yesterday with the ebony leather and piano black door cards/TR surround, and it had the grey steering wheel trims.
My dealer was adamant mine should have had gloss black trims, and retro fitted them.

Well, those excellent people at Guava have humoured me by checking what is possible.
Unfortunately, it seems that to get the shiny black stuff on the wheel requires the purchase of entire switch assemblies with a price tag the wrong side of £300.
So I'm not going down that route, even though you do get nice shiny edges to the buttons on the later version.
I might investigate the vinyl wrap as suggested by mik

Do you also have the shiny edges on the buttons, or is that just on MY14?
