The "Service Required" message has come up on my display.
I'm just coming up to 132,000 miles having owned the car (MY2012 D4) since June 2016.
The last service stamped in the service record book was done by Guy Salmon In Coventry at 119,800 miles in January 2016. I spoke to them as they said it was a standard B service and the engine oil filter and engine oil element had been changed and the air cleaner filer replaced.
The D4 maintenance check sheet shows the next service is the 108 month/144,000 mile service which should include renewing the auto transmission oil and filter and also replacing the brake fluid.
An indi garage I spoke to said that renewing the auto transmission oil and filter may not be necessary as I've not reached 144,000 miles (I probably do about 15,000 miles a year). His suggestion was to do the normal A service and he would inspect the rest of the car and give advise on what might need doing now/shortly/later.
Cost isn't an issue here - Discos are expensive vehicles - but obviously don't want to spend hard earned cash if I don't have to.
Thoughts/advice please

I was not overly impressed with the condition of the gearbox oil when i did a first partial change at 52k miles. I would get it changed if i was you for peace of mind
Also t/box oil needed a change at that mileage, whereas front and rear diff oils very clean. D4 GS 12MY

That's what I was thinking Geoff but as I've not reached the 144,000 miles yet I was wondering if it was mileage dependant or just bite the bullet and get it done now Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Bite the bullet and change the gearbox oil asap. It's an expensive world of pain when things go wrong in there Dave

There's a few peeps on here that can do the transmission oil change much cheaper than the dealer
Then get the standard A service for service stamp Dave
