12v power with no engine running possible
I want to be able to run a hand lamp of my discovery, but have the option of not having the engine running and still have power to the light is this possible?
Either set up your own connection direct from the battery (protected with a fuse) to connect the light to, or remove the relay that controls the power to the 12v sockets, and jump the relay pins, that way all 3 sockets, boot, rear and front left are constant live to the battery Altox GSM FBH controller thread

Is there no fuse position for permanent feed in a Discovery? I know on some cars the lighter socket fuse can be in one position or other, which gives you either switched power or permanent power.

As Beanie says, jump the relay position in the fuse box and the sockets will be battery live rather than ignition switched.
