Mine is due soon and so far three quotes £800+ from Yeovil and two local LR Dealers £580 each.
Probably needs brake fluid doing as well though which will increase cost further.
Anyone had cheaper than the £550 mark ?

Between £600 - £800 seems about on the mark between main dealers and independents
Carefull with independents - one I called claimed D3 used chains not belts and one claimed he would still have to take body off
Just got my 2006 D3 back after an interim oil service at an independant who is usually up to speed.
He informed me that as its coming up to 100k I will need new belts and the body has to come off to do this..
From your Post I gather this is not the case, is that correct and am I being slipped a Kipper?
If the body does not come off what is the procedure and should I find another garage to do this job?
Many Thanks

At main LR Dealers they do the belts without removing the body. Removing the body was the 'old' way of doing it as far as know.

if you go with the dealer £500 quotes, make sure they are quoting to replace ALL the belts - best quote I got was £750 about 2 months agoDuncan

Just spoken to Stratstone Landrover in Swansea.
They inform me, as on here, that the body does not need to come off, the job will be done in 6 hours and they change the oil and filter as part of the service. All at a bargain price of £960 inc Vat...
Oh and I get a stamp in the service book too...FOC

Lakeland have quoted £580 for the service with all belts and do not require the body off.

a lot of this depends on the labour charges, even between main dealers throughout the country, i'm gonna go with Frank ogg, but they are pretty far north for most peeps

Just spokent to the dealer and he thought that LR have changed the service schedule so that only the front belt needs to be done at 105k and not the back belts. Anyone else confirm this ?

No matter what the LR dealer is saying, I'd still get them all done whilst they're in there doing the main belt.
I'd be very concerned about your dealer using the word 'thought' DJ

Ronp - agree with you, but he has gone away to check. Issue is they haven't seen many D3 with this milage or age yet.

Just noticed on the Maintenence schedule that it states "renew ancillary driving belt" [singular not plural] point 30.
So that's just one belt ... and this is from an old schedule

Point 29. States 'belts' for V6 - assume this is the diesel engine ??
