All excellent PR copy, but no torsional rigidity figures published then?

I am unable to compete with the levels of "bull" in that copy from LR, so I shall admit defeat in that contest!
Besides, if LR weren't able to beat the old figure, with smaller windows, a higher waistline, a smaller boot aperture, a more rounded shape and another 13 year's design work, then they really do have a problem!

I believe Hummers finished a few years ago. Could be wrong on that though...

That's true.
but if only that was the only problem...
I've read that two or three D5 owners in here are seriously thinking of rejecting their cars. Well, it seems that the worldwide LR reputation of selling unreliable vehicles will stay for a while...

They've been unreliable for a good few decades but many, mainly from German brands, buy into the desirability of the car and overlook LRs poor reliability record and seem surprised when things go wrong and even more surprised that LR don't give a , they never have, I found that out with my D3. Sad but true.
To be honest if I had £75k to spend it wouldn't be on the D5. I love mine and so far with 1500 on the clock it's been faultless but it ain't worth that kind of money. My one was £54k inc options I'm not sure where the extra £20k goes on the higher models which seem to have all the problems, perhaps it's because more high end models have been sold compared to us paupers but happy S/SE owners.
I should add, though I like mine it's too early to say if I would take another. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Hey J77,
Thankfully you're enjoying your D5 and haven't had any trouble with it. You give some hope to those who are contemplating to buy one.
I cross my fingers that it stays that way for you.
You've been a good ambassador for this model with your regular feedback and honest comments...always accepting critics and criticising it yourself, where some other owners get upset straight away and take it personnally !
Cheers!

Thank you
I always try and give honest feedback, I'm a big fan of the Disco and in my eyes it's the best car on the road regardless of generation. Took me a while to accept the new breed and nearly cancelled a few times even to the point where I ended up in a Volvo showroom, but it's grown on me. I'm on my 9th LR product but it's LRs push for premium desirability and the price tag to go with it that may prevent a 10th. It's getting to the point where I feel out of place in an LR showroom.
What suits me won't suit someone else and vice versa, each person comments based on their circumstances and the D5 is far from perfect, I would be lying if I said I don't miss the classic shape it's iconic always will be.
I'll keep providing updates for those that are interested. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

It's no secret that the D5 is not for me, but I've appreciated the honest and balanced reports that J77 has given
