There are so many informed reasoned arguments about the environment and global warming out there it makes me sick that despite these the media seem to concentrate on 4x4 vehicles and their emmissions, children actually believe that 4x4's cause all environment change. Its such b*ll*ck* .
I think I kow why the media pander to these liberal ignorant green to**ers, its because the media is full of liberal ignorant green to**ers too. Its catch 22.
Politicians need the media hence they pander to them, I could be classed as a traditional tory but Cameron makes me s*ck, at least you know Brown is a socialist b*rst*d. Not a single politician has the balls to speak out and tell the truth.
The % contribution of road vehicles to total to co2 emmisssions are miniscule, we all know what we do in the UK will have no effect what-so-ever when GDP growth in China & India continues at the current rate. For gods sake what % of chinese even have a car at the moment, in 5-10 years time it will be literally billions of them, and they won't be bl**dy prius's
In addtion the old Soviet states quite like the idea of global warming as it opens up vast tracts of Siberia to agriculture, habitation etc etc. So they couldn't give a toss what with all their new oil finds etc
What does effect co2 emmissions massively is deforestation of the equitoral rainforests. This accounts for 18 % yes 18% of annual co2 emmissions. If a small fraction of the hot air generated by western governments was spent on subsidising the economies of Brazil etc the Problem will be solved.
In any event I bought my Disco when it was 6 months old, this makes it greener than any new car, notwithstanding a new disco is greener than a new prius (dust to dust cost) in any event.
there endeth my rant

Also, take a look at this month's Sniff Petrol for an amusing Congestion Charge-related picture: http://www.sniffpetrol.com/No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
